How it works

    Install and verify

    Get the app. Enter a one-time email code. SMS appears only where we can deliver it. Verify phone or email so matching has something solid to hash.

  2. Contacts tab with people already on ignotu and delivery status

    Sync contacts

    Optional. The app can show who already has an account. Matching uses hashes. We do not keep a readable copy of your address book in logs.

  3. Sent tab with one-way messages, delivered and read receipts

    Write, send, stop

    Pick a person. Add text or media. Send. There is no reply field on their side. That is the product.

  4. Chats tab showing Someone in your contacts labels instead of names or numbers

    They read. You see it.

    They get a masked label: someone in their contacts, or anonymous. You get delivered and read. The relay drops the ciphertext after delivery or hold expiry.
